Maple Leaf Red
Maple Leaf Red
A deep, warm colour inspired by maple leaves turning red in autumn. This is a beautiful hue
perfect for botanicals, florals, landscapes, and still life work. Besides its obvious use in
autumnal landscapes, Maple Leaf Red is also useful for painting architecture and brick work.
Artist’s Notes: Maple Leaf is a deeper red than Carmine and Naphthol Red. Maple Leaf Red
dries brighter than Perylene Maroon. This deep red creates earthy burnt orange hues when
combined with yellows such as Hansa Yellow or Aureolin Hue, and moody deep purples when
mixed with Ultramarine Blue.
Paint Maker’s Notes: Maple Leaf is made with multiple pigments.
